In His Hands...

As I've revealed in previous posts, I've been going through sort of heart transplant process. I came across a book called Hosea by Jennifer Rothschild. Interesting enough, I was in a book store trying to find my mother a birthday gift. The book itself caught my eye. Perhaps it was the book cover. Immediately I picked up the book, and without thought purchased it. I didn't read the back cover, and everyone who knows me knows I think carefully about my purchases. There was some finality about it, no matter what, I was getting the book. Well, needlessly to say since God was transforming my heart, I learned that I lived in fear and ultimately didn't feel worthy of any good thing. It was time to replace those things that dwell so deeply in my heart with God's truth. And He used the book of Hosea to begin that process.

Security is a state of being free from danger or a threat. Ms. Rothschild asked a question...when do you feel the most secure? I had to think about that one. I had to ask God to reveal to me. The answer came swiftly, and I wasn't proud of the answers. I felt most secure knowing that I had a safe place to live, food to eat, a job and all my bills could be paid. There is nothing wrong with that, but what happens when you lose the job. What happens... In my life, I've been in situations of loss or not having enough money to eat, pay my bills or for that matter a safe place to live. Throughout those times the only consistent thing in my life was God. You see when my husband and I had no food to eat, it was God that sent a strange to our home with a cooler of food.

Our security my friend shouldn't be in things we have but in God. Resources, friends and family can not provide the assurance that God can. Because ultimately it fails us in one way or another. Family and friends are in this journey with us, and they have their own path to follow. Simply put they are human and make mistakes, but God he never fails. He is always by our sides whether we want to acknowledge Him or not. He is there with is arms wide open, waiting. Our security is in God, not in the things He provides. After all He provides it all.

Identity Check...You Have Security

Did you know that God is concerned about everything that concerns you. He knows what you are in need of, and desires for you not to worry! You are secure in His hands!

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you or forsake you. ~Deuteronomy 31:6
