Recurring is something that occurs again periodically or repeatedly.

Have you ever had something happen in your life that occurs over and over. Perhaps you find yourself in unhealthy situations i.e. abuse, oppression. Every time it happens you might think how did this happen again. Perhaps your determine you are no longer going to overeat but you find yourself doing that exact thing, overeating. Then the questions arise. Why do I keep gravitating to this type of behavior or even person? For me, I have a tendency to want to please people at the determent of myself. The last instance where I got really hurt, I asked the Lord why does this keeping happening. It took some searching of my heart and I found the answer. Well, it was a three part answer fear, rejection and ultimately my thoughts of myself of being unworthy. So I learned that the condition of my heart was unhealthy. Wow! So my people pleasing ways was I feared being rejected. So I would let people devalue me. I would downplay my talents and knowledge so that someone felt good about themselves. It ultimately came down to I didn't feel deep in my heart that I was good enough or worthy of anything good, not even good health. Isn't that crazy, but it was true. So it wasn't people devaluing me, I devalued myself first. They were only following my example.

In Proverbs 23:7, states as a man thinkth in his heart, so is he. Like you, I've heard this scripture and others like it countless times. The key that the Father needs us to understand is to evaluate and guard our hearts. Because we become what we think deep in our hearts. Take sometime off to yourself and ask yourself some real questions. Be honest. What do I really think of myself? Oftentimes, what is in our hearts manifested through what we say and even do. We can really say some really messed up stuff about ourselves. Probably more so than what we say about others. If you find in your heart for example that you really think you are unworthy of love. Well chances are at some point you will attract those negative outcomes in your life.

The wonderful thing is you can change what is in your heart! It isn't a quick fix, but with God those negative recurring outcomes can be turned around to a victorious life. First, you need time to speak with the Father. Set aside that time where it is just you and God. Ask him to reveal the reasons why certain negative patterns continue to happen in your life. Now this is very important, wait for His answer. God will answer you, sometimes we are too quick and we can miss His answer. There are different ways He can answer.

Deep in your heart...you will have a sense of peace about the answer.

Through His word...God's word is full of the truth. It never lies.

Write down what He tells you, and then ask Him to help you to learn to think differently about yourself. One thing I know for sure, God loves you. And you will be surprised what thoughts He has towards you. Once you begin to believe it, a new life begins.

Identity Check...You Are

Did you know that you've been chosen by God? There is no qualifications! He knows all about you and He still receives you. Yes, you with all of your imperfections.

Now the word of Lord came to me, saying, "Before I formed you in the womb. I knew you. Jeremiah 1:4

He knows you and chose you!
